Alliteration
When two or more words sound the same.
Repetition
When the same word or phrase is repeated several times.
Rhetorical question
rhetorical question used by the writer to create an engaging effect and it doesn’t require an answer.

Something that is true and can be proven.
Statistics
Using numbers to present as a fact.
The rule of three & lists
This technique is often used for emphasis and can be persuasive.
Direct Address
When the writer communicates something directly to the reader.
Hyperbole
When a writer exaggerates to persuade the reader.
Emotive language
When the writer uses vocabulary to make the reader feel a particular emotion.
Imperative verbs
An imperative verb is an instruction or a command.
Counter arguments
A counter argument directly opposes another person’s idea or opinion.
Anecdotes
A short story about a real person or incident.
