    -quotes from other people which would support the argument(experts/important people)
    -rhetorical questions
  • repetition
  • rule of three/triads
    -use of evidence( eg studies, surveys, etc) to support points.
    -impersonal/ objective/ unbiased tone.
    -analogy (comparing two things )
  • distancing phrases(‘there are those who say…)
