ACTIVE Structure
Subject of the sentence is as prominent as possible
Adjective
A word that is used to describe a quality
Adverb
A word that is used to modify a verb showing manner, place, time or degree
Article
a, the, used to specify the definitiveness of the noun phrase
Complex sentence
there is only one independent clause but there are one or more dependent clauses
Ex: Jesse got on his bike and rode to his job.
Compound Sentence
compound sentence is made up of at least two simple sentences that are joined together
Coordinating Conjunction
and, but, or, so, for, yet
Conjunction
join words, phrases, and clauses
Demonstrative
this, that, these, those
Determiner
are used in sentences before nouns
Interjection
words that express emotion in a language, usually followed by exclamation points
Noun
person, place, things, or ideas
Passive Structure
Should be eliminated at all costs!
Possessive
a noun which uses an apostrophe used with the letter s at the end of the word to show ownership
Preposition
Words that are placed before nouns or pronouns to form a prepositional phrase shows placement.
