What is Alliteration?
Alliteration is the repetition of the same consonant sound at the beginning of words that are usually close in successful.
What is Assonance?
Assonance is the technique of vowel sounds being repeated at the beginning or middle of nearby words.
What are Sound Clusters?
Sound Clusters is a group of sounds being repeated throughout a sentence or a group of lines, not just at the beginning of words.
What is Onomatopoeia?
Onomatopoeia are words that sounds like the sounds they name.
What is Parallel Construction?
Parallel Construction is using the same word class order twice (in same or two sentences)
What is Triple Contruction?
Triple Construction is repeating three times a group of words which have the same pattern of word classes. Each group may or may not start with the same words.
What is a Simlie?
A Simile is an image which compares two things using ‘like’ or ‘as’.
What is a Metaphor?
A Metaphor is an image which compares two things without using ‘like’ or ‘as’
What does ‘Choice of Words’ mean?
Choice of Words means using more unusual or specialised or technical words.
Where would Slang be used?
Informal language which would likely be used in direct speech.
Where would the use of direct or indirect speech be used?
Direct or non direct speech would be used to quote or report spoken words.
Where would the use of incorrect grammar be used?
The use of incorrect grammar would be used in direct speech but may also be used in autobiography for particular effect.
What is Rhythm?
Rhythm is a regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables.
