A

A sentence that has a main clause and one or more subordinate (dependent) clauses. The clauses are linked by a subordinating conjunction such as because, since, after, although, when (and many others) or when (and many others) or a relative pronoun such as: that, who (or) which.

Example = The student,who had finished her last exam, was out celebrating.

(within the commas is the subordinate clause)
