Memorize and recall language devices(but this will not contain all of them)
Alliteration
The occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of closely connected words.
Anthropomorphism
Attributing human characteristics to an animal.
Adverb
A word that describes a verb, adjective, another adverb or sentence.
Adjective
A word describing an attribute of a noun.
Allegory
A story or poem that can be interpreted to a hidden meaning.
Allusion
An expression that indirectly calls something to mind.
Anachronism
A thing belonging to different time period than the one it exists in.
Assonance
Repetition of vowel sounds in nearby words.
Colloquialism
Use of everyday language appropriate for conversation.
Consonance
Repetition of consonant sounds in nearby words.
Diction
Emotive Language
Language that appeals to the readers’ emotions.
Euphemism
An indirect expression for something that might seem too blunt or harsh when speaking about something unpleasant.
Hyperbole
An exaggerated statement not meant to be taken seriously.
Idiom
Expression with a meaning that cannot be deciphered from the words themselves.
