Emotive language is chosen specifically to cause an emotional response in listeners or readers. Emotive language can also be used to influence
Example - The defenseless wolf was violently attacked by the gruesome bear.
What is a hyperbole
Hyperbole is a purposeful exaggeration not meant to be taken literally.
Example - I’m so hungry, I could eat a horse.
What is a alliteration
The repetition of the same letter or sound at the beginning of closely connected words.
Example - Claire, close your cluttered closet.
What is a assonance
Repetition of vowels sounds in any part of a word
Example - Sight and light or fish and chips
What is a superlatives
Describing words that have the highest or least quality. Superlatives include the ending est or the word most.
Example - biggest and fastest
What is a rhetorical question
A question asked in order to create a dramatic effect or to make a point rather than to get an answer.
Example - Is rain wet?
