- Concepts are expressed through words or vocabulary
Grammar definition
- Syntax and morphology
- syntax - arranges words into sentences
- Morphology - way grammar is formed
Pragmatics definition
- Involves skills such as greeting, changing language that depends on the audience
Nature definition
Behaviour is caused by inmate factors such as genetics that cannot be changed
Nurture definition
- Mind is a blank slate at birth - behaviour is result of learning from environment (including social context within which child is raised)

- Child has difficulty in understanding language

- Child has difficulty communicating verbally
