What is Opinion?
a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge
Evidence
the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid
Explicitly
in a clear and detailed manner, leaving no room for confusion or doubt
Central Idea
a brief, overall summary of what the entire story is about
Authors Point of View
the way an author looks at a topic or the ideas being described; Ex, First person, Second person, Third person
Refute
prove (a statement or theory) to be wrong or false; disprove
Context Clues
hints that the author gives to help define a difficult or unusual word
Conflict
a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one
Supporting Detail
reasons, examples, facts, steps, or other kinds of evidence that explain the main idea
Summary
a brief statement or account of the main points of something
Authors claim/argument
the main point they are trying to make in a written work
Conclusion
the end or finish of an event or process
Informative Essay
educates your reader on a topic
