Dynamic verb
describe a doing word
e.g: Ben is mooring his yacht
Stative verb
show a state of being or emotion or express a less physical action. It can be in the past, present of future tense
e.g: he thought of an idea
he thinks of an idea
he will think of an idea
Linking verbs
a connection between a subject and further information about the subject
e.g: William is exited about his promotion
Modal verbs
Used to show how certain or necessary something is
Imperative sentence
fuction as commands, instructions or orders
Declarative sentences
states facts or arguments and ends with full stops
Exclamatory sentences
prove a strong emotion or excitement. They end with exclamation marks
interrgaitve sentences
ask questions
Proper noun
name of a person place or thing
common nouns
all other normal nouns
Compound nouns
when 2 terms are put together
e.g: letter+box=letterbox
Concrete nouns
relate to the 5 sences
Abstract nouns
nouns relating to feelings not felt through the 5 senses
collective nouns
a word is used to describe something plural
