An adjective is something that describes a noun

An adverb is a word that describes the verb

A word or phrase used in informal language
What is a simple sentence ?
A simple sentence is a sentence that has only one main clause.
What is a compound sentence?
A compound sentence contains two or more main clauses. They are joined together by “but” , “ and “ , “ or “.
What is a complex sentence ?
A complex sentence contains two or more main clauses and a subordinate clause.
What is a subordinate clause?
A subordinate clause has a subject and a verb, but doesn’t make sense on its own.
What is a connotation?
Connotations are feelings or ideas that is suggested by a particular word.
What are dashes used for ?
A dash is used to emphasise what follows.
What is a first person narrator?
A first person narrator is a story from the first - persons perspective
What is a genre?
It is a style or category of literature.
What is hyperbole?
Hyperbole is exaggerated statements or something which is not meant to be taken literally.
What is imagery?
Imagery is a feature of written and spoken language and occurs whenever someone has chosen to use language in a non- literal way.
