Landing gear Flashcards
Discribe Autobrake system
Uses HYD sys b pressure.
Provides maximum deceleration for RTO and automatic braking at pre selected deceleration rates immediately after touchdown.
Operates only when normal brakes system is functioning.
Antiskid is available during auto brake operation.
Recall antiskid is available in the normal and alternate brake systems.
In the Normal and Alternate Brake Systems, both normal and alternate brake system provide skid, locked wheel,, touchdown and Hydroplane protection.
Antiskid protection is available even with loss of both Hydraulic systems.
Parking Brake hyd source
A or B HYD Sys or If A and B sys not pressurized parking brake pressure is maintained by accumulator pressure
Describe the meaning of green Landing Gear indicator lights for landing gear verification.
Related gear is down and locked. Landing gear is down and locked as long as one green landing gear indicator light (center panel or overhead panel) for each gear is illuminated.
Recall antiskid is available in the normal and alternate brake systems.
Antiskid protection is provided in the normal and alternate brake systems. Both normal and alternate brake systems provide skid, locked wheel, touchdown and hydroplane protection.
Note: Antiskid protection is available even with loss of both hydraulic systems.
Describe Alternate Brake system
Powered by HYD Sys A.
If HYD Sys B is low or fails , HYD sys A automatically supplies pressure to ALT Brake system.
No Autobrakes.
Describe Normal Brake system
powered by HYD Sys B Anti Skid and Autobrakes available.
Describe Brake Accumulator
Pressurized by Sys B
If both Normal and Alternate brake system pressure is lost, trapped HYD pressure in the Brake Accum can still provided several braking applications or parking brake application.
Autobrakes inop.
Describe the brake system.
Normal Alternate Brake Accumulator Auto Brakes Parking Brake
The brake system includes:
Normal Brake System
-The normal brake system is powered by hydraulic system B. -Anti-skid and Autobrakes are available.
Alternate Brake System
- The alternate brake system is powered by hydraulic system A.
- If hydraulic system B is low or fails, hydraulic system A automatically supplies pressure to the alternate brake system.
- Anti-skid is available, Autobrakes are inoperative.
Brake Accumulator
- The brake accumulator is pressurized by hydraulic system B.
- If both normal and alternate brake system pressure is lost, trapped hydraulic pressure in the brake accumulator can still provide several braking applications or parking brake application.
- Auto brakes are inoperative.
The Autobrake System
- Uses hydraulic system B pressure to provide maximum
deceleration for rejected takeoff and automatic braking at pre-
selected deceleration rates immediately after touchdown.
- The system operates only when the normal brake system is
functioning.
- Antiskid system protection is provided during autobrake operation.
Parking Brake
- The parking brake can be set with either A or B hydraulic systems
pressurized.
- If A and B hydraulic systems are not pressurized, parking brake
pressure is maintained by the brake accumulator. (Accumulator pressure is shown on the HYD BRAKE PRESS indicator.)
Recall how the autobrakes can be disarmed.
4
- Moving the SPEED BRAKE lever to the down detent.
- Advancing the forward thrust lever(s), except during the first 3
seconds after touchdown for landing. - Applying manual brakes.
- Moving the selector switch to the OFF position.
Anti Skid INOP
A system Fault detected by anti skid monitoring system
Explain the function of the Landing Gear Override Trigger.
Allows the Landing Gear lever to be raised, bypassing the landing gear lever lock.
Explain the meaning of the (amber) AUTO BRAKE DISARM light. (5)
Speed brake lever moved to down detent during RTO or Landing
Manual Brakes applied during RTO or Landing
Thrust Lever(s) advanced during RTO or Landing (Except during first 3 secs after touchdown or landing)
RTO selected on ground ( illuminates for 2 seconds then ext.)
A malfunction exists in automatic braking system
