Landing Gear Flashcards
Main landing gear and nose landing gear is locked by?
MLG Gear is held in the Up and Down positions by
mechanical locks. NLG UP and Down position by a
over center locking mechanism.
Proximity sensing electronic units?
(PSEU) control normal extension and retraction.
What pumps the alternate landing gear system
Hydraulic system #2.
How is the nose gear held in the up and down position?
Over center mechanism.
How are the nose gear doors actuated?
Mechanically
The purpose of the brushes on the main wheels wells?
Aerodynamic seal.
The anti skid control unit (ASCU)
The anti-skid system consists of a dual channel
(inboard and outboard) anti-skid control unit (ASCU),
four axle mounted speed transducers and two dual
anti-skid control valves.
The anti-skid system independently controls the
braking of each main wheel by modulating the
hydraulic pressure applied to each brake
Anti-Skid test The ASCU is equipped with a built-in-
test function. The system will do a continuous test and
a start-up self test. Should a fault be detected, the
defective anti-skid channel will be displayed on the
EICAS.
