CBD is the City Centre, here you will find fashion shops. offices, entertainment and department stores.

a way of making an area or place easier to reach

this is an area of the city where the land is used in a particular way

The CBD - because road and local rail routes all lead to the city centre and public transport such as buses run into the city centre

Briefly explain the 2 main ideas of the Burgess Model
Cities grow outwards from the original site so property on the outskirts of town become cheaper. The original site is called the CBD. Land in the CBD is the most expensive becasue its limited and has the best accessibility, only high profit making business’ can afford to be based here.
What do we mean by a ‘Millionaire City’
A city that has grown so big that it now homes more than 1 million people
What land use is found around the CBD?
The inner city
How many levels are there on the Burgess Model of land use? and name them

Consentric rings with sectors of land use
What kind of houses are found in the Low-Class Residential zone?
