Mitigates against the reduction of subsidies.
Mitigates potential risks - if there is a large external factor that affects normal farming enterprise, you have another income stream.

In the example set out in my submission - we set a rent of £500 p/a due to the small scale of the area.
It is very seasonal with only a few months a year.
However dependant on the estate they can reach large figures and we have another estate fetching £10,000 p/a for 3000 acres of shooting space.

How did you seek pre-application advice?
I wrote to the council using the prescribed form (Form 22) to seek advice on the requirement for planning. Setting out dates, details of the property and method of demolition and future use.
