provide the necessary soil conditions which will enhance the successful establishment of the young offshoots or the tissue culture plants received from the nursery.

Basal Application
it is the act of covering the soil with plastic sheets and undecomposed
plant material, such as bark wood chips, leaves, and other organic material, in order to preserve moisture and improve the condition of the soil
Mulching
Importance of Land Clearing
- cleaner and wider space for planting
- to remove weeds that compete with sunlight, water, and nutrients
Importance of Soil Cultivation
to let the air circulate and to to let water pass through the soil easily to reach the root of the plant
Importance of Basal Application
increase soil fertility
improve the soil structure
Importance of Mulching
- to prevent the loss of soil moisture and erosion
*to control pests and the growth of weeds - to inhibit certain plant diseases
