Q

What is Indigenist vs Indigenizing?

A

Indigenist is a land based model where you start with the land your own and the knowledge
that has been there for thousands of years. A worldview that acknowledges and recognizes that connect to the land as a relation of ours. Honouring and respecting that relationship and learning from it.

Indigenizing university education with its colonial European model roots by adding in Indigenous content. Place based education includes a western approach.
