infantilises Macbeth ( attempt to increase her power and make them equal ) . “ partner” suggest she is equal to Macbeth , which she was not in the Jacobean era

her woman features such as breast milk are poison and holding her back ( poison linking to snake) further links to the snake from the Adam and Eve story (snake reason women aren’t equal) then correlates to Jacobean era

LM describes Macbeth as physically strong and powerful for killing but mentally weak and unstable (emasculation)

LM describes Macbeth of that (foreshadows the mental instability yet to come)

“what is done is done”
Demonstrates her unsympathy as she is using Macbeth as her way to gain power (power hungry)

“Are you a man”
Insults Macbeth’s masculinity in an attempt to make him encourage himself to pull himself together
ACT 5
“Out damnned spot I say”
Sleep walking and demonstrating washing her hands, symbolism of water/lack ( cannot heal or change )
ACT 5
“wash your hands , put on a nightgown”
Hallucination
Instructing herself to pull herself together which juxtaposes how she ridiculed Macbeth for the same thing
