Lab Questions Flashcards
Momentum - What was the difference in what happens to the participants when the ball was thrown with the feet in the air versus when their feet where on the ground?
The ball didn’t go as far when their feet were on the ground when they lifted their feet up it went further as their mass velocity was included
Momentum - What happened to the participant’s velocity as their hands moved out to the side and then back?
Not as much mass outside of his body
Reduces his mass so the moment of intersia goes down and he speeds up a bit
Momentum - Why are there differences in the movement of the torso between the two types of gait?
Torso is moving more
Upper body is providing COUNTER ROTATING to the lower body
When your legs move forward
EMG - Describe the difference between the EMG activation in the two trials
At the top get more fatigued need more motor units to keep the required force going until you let go
EMG - Using the figure below explain the shift in frequency
Slow twich fibres being more slow switch activity occurring then fast twitch fibres
Fatigued is the largers ones more activity right side of the graph when they aren’t fatigued
Fast twitch when they get fatigued cant produce slow twitch
EMG Notice the range in which EMG occurs. What other signals occur within this range and what impact could this have on our analysis
radio frequency
