What is a compound leaf?
A compound leaf is a leaf that has multiple distinct leaflets attached to a common petiole, or middle vein.
Explain the 2 types of inflourescence
There are two main forms of inflorescences:
1. Racemose: monopodial branching; main axis continues to grow, and flowers are
borne on side branches, open in succession from below upwards (or, if
inflorescence is short and flattened, from outside inwards).
2. Cymose: sympodial branching; main axis ends in a flower (first to open) and
further growth occurs by one or more lateral branches, each of which behaves in
the same way, i.e. eventually forms a flower, and so on.
In the life cycle of bryophyte which phase is dominant?
Gametophyte
Gemma cup is found in
Marchantia
The thallus of volvox is known as….
Coenobium
The coenobium in Volvox consists of many individual cells embedded in a gelatinous matrix.
It maintains a specific spherical shape, which aids in movement and survival.
Volvox has a haplontic life cycle (haploid-dominant).
Cycas circinalis has branches
c.
Stout and same size as stem
Hypogeal germination is…
when the cotyledons remain below ground as the seed germinates.
