Test Tube
Little glass tube that chemicals go in
Evaporating Dish
A ceramic bowl that doesn’t have a top & is used to heat things
Clay Triangle
A triangle made of clay that the evaporating dish sits on
Bunsen Burner
It’s like a pipe & a flame comes out of it & it heats things
Mortar & Pestle
Ceramic bowl & “club” thingy that grinds materials to a paste
Utility Clamp
It holds things on the ring stand
Wire Gauze
It supports the glassware while it’s heating
Beaker
A piece of glassware used for measuring liquids
Stopper
It’s made out of rubber & it keeps things in the test tubes/flasks
Watch Glass
A giant “contact lens” that goes over the evaporating dish so you can watch what’s going on
Erlenmeyer Flask
Pyramid-shaped flask that measures liquids
Crucible
Acorn-shaped ceramic that can heat things
Forceps
They look like scissors & they grab things
Test Tube Clamp
It holds the test tube when it’s hot
Tongs
Similar to forceps, these are good for picking up hot things
Goggles
They protect your eyes
Graduated Cylinder
It’s more precise than an Erlenmeyer Flask or a Beaker
Pipette
Plastic thing that can suck liquids & dispense them a little at a time
Eyedropper
Glass thing with a rubber bulb that can suck liquids & dispense them a little at a time
Wire Brush
A tiny brush made of wire that is used to clean test tubes & other glassware
Funnel
It helps liquids go into small containers
Well Plate
A plate with small wells that can hold minute amounts of liquids
Burette
A glass tube with a tap at one end, for dispensing small amounts of a liquid at a time
Thermometer
It measures temperature
Glass Bottle
A bottle made of glass
Scoopula
A spatula but it’s used to scoop things
Spatula
Used for scraping, transferring, or applying powders & paste, not anything in the kitchen
Test Tube Rack
Holds multiple test tubes when not in used
Wash Bottle
Not a water bottle! You squeeze it to dispense water
Ring Stand
It holds the iron ring & other things over a bunsen burner
