Lab 7: Soil Respiration and the Carbon Cycle PART 2 STATS Flashcards
When do you use a multi-factor ANOVA test?
When you have more than one independent variable , and when you want to examine the interaction between the two manipulated variables on the responding variable.
How many p-values come from the multifactor ANOVA test?
3
One for each independent variable and one for the interaction between them
What does a statistical interaction mean?
When the effect of one independent variable on the dependent variable changes depending on the level of the other independent variable
What does and doesn’t this ANOVA tell you?
Tells you whether the results are significant, but does not tell you the directionality of the results, you have to graph them to see this, and from this you can make three interpretations.
Two about the separate effects of each independent variable and the interaction effect
