Lab 6 Flashcards
1
Q
2 Assumptions of statistical mechanisms that examine the occurance of the species within a set of samples are
A
- The individuals of a species are randomly dispersed with respect to one another
- These same individuals are randomly dispersed with respect to any environmental gradients/changes.
If these assumptions are true then the result, in terms of abundance, for a given species over a number of samples taken across some environmental gradient should be the same, i.e. the same number of individuals should be found in each sample.
2
Q
Frequency
A
total count
3
Q
Chi sq test is also known as
A
Goodness of fit test
4
Q
Small chance deviation
A
small x^2 value, high probability of occurance: p>0.05
5
Q
large non-random deviation
A
high x^2 value, low probability of occurance: p<0.05
