18
Q

steps to get blood type

A

antiserum on blood typing tray
clean tip of finger w alcohol prep pad
punctured the tip of cleansed finger so that blood comes out
place drops of blood on each drop of antiserum
mix the wells with different picks
place tray in light box and rock side to side
look for agglutination.

19
Q

steps for hematocrit

A

clean finger
puncture with sterile lancet
allow a good amount of blood on tip
hold capillary at a right angle and put it on the blood\
fill capillary tube at least 3/4
put finger at capillary tube end and seal the blood filled end with clay
place sealed tube in hematocrit centrifuge, sealed end of the capillary tube faces the outer edge of centrifuge plate
red cell column divided by total blood volume multiplied by a hundred
