What are some methods of cell lysis?

A

sonification (uses ultrasound waves )
liquid homogenization ( uses hydraulic pressure )
freeze- thaw method ( freeze in dry ice or ethanol and then thaw at room temp. )
bead beating ( agitates sample by grinding with beads or media)
microfluidizer method ( high pressure homogenizer)
