LAB 3 Flashcards
Designed to study entire objects in three dimensions at low magnification
Stereomicroscope or Dissecting Microscope
Used for examining small or thinly sliced sections of objects under higher magnification than that of the stereomicroscope
Compound Light Microscope
The use of two sets of lenses: the ocular lenses located near the eyes and the objective lenses located near the object
Compound
Analogous to the compound light microscope
Transmission Electron Microscope
Analogous to the dissecting light microscope
Scanning Electron Microscope
The minimum distance between two objects at which they can still be seen, or resolved, as two separate objects.
Resolution
The area from top to bottom that comes into focus while slowly focusing up and down with the microscope’s fine-adjustment knob.
Depth of field
