7
Q

Name the three type of granulocytes

A

Neutrophils- are about twice the size of red blood cells and have nuclei with many lobes. They are most numerous type of white blood cell in a healthy individual 2) eosinophils - are about the same size as neutrophil. Their granule Stan orange/pink because they take up the red stain eosin. They have bi lobed nuclei. (3). Basophils - are smaller than the other two their granules take up a very dark blue basic stain

Q

Describe lymphocytes

A

Are about the same size as basophils but lymphocytes can be distinguished from basophils because it’s nucleus takes up nearly the whole cytoplasm-of the cell leaving a clear blue halo of cytoplasm around it.

21
Q

Hi why would low sodium level be a problem

A

Low sodium level may result in the lack of iron that is needed for nerve conduction and muscle contraction

22
Q

Malaria is cause by a parasite that affect the red blood cells individual with atypical red blood cells may be harder for the parasite to infect which condition might help protect against malaria?

A

Siskle cell

23
Q

Calcium levels are part of a BMP give three physiological process that require calcium

A

Muscle contraction, nerve impulses, and cells for movement

24
Q

What color would you expect for a negative Benedict’s test for glucose

A

Blue

25
Q

Birder reagent tests for the present of which organic molecule?

A

Protein

26
Q

A sample of plasma turns cloudy with the addition of AgNO3 what does that result mean

A

It means that the silver ion in AgNO3 react with chlorine ion in the solution to form insoluble AgCl (s)

27
Q

How can you tell a neutrophil from basophils

A

Neutrophil have multi- lobe nucleus and Basophils - has cells with big , super dark purple- blue granules

28
Q

How can you distinguish between a lymphocytes and a monocytes

A

Monocytes are slightly larger than lymphocytes

29
Q

What color should an eosinophils stain with eosin

A

Pink/orange

Which blood cell would give you information about the average size of a red blood cell

A

MVC - mean corpuscular volume

31

Red blood cell deliver

A

Oxygen to our tissue and pick up carbon dioxide and bring it back to the lungs
