the use of humor, irony, exageration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people and other things

a place, person, thing that is anologus to one another/ to another thing

a speach or short comment given directly to the audience, breaking the 4th wall
soliloquey
when a character speaks directly to the audience expressing their ineer thoughts ex) edmund
monolugue
a lengthy speech given by a character
dramatic irony
expresssing the meaning/what something is by using alnguage that typically signifies the opposite
situational irony
when something happens that is opposite of what was exprected ex) fire station burning down
verbal irony
when someone says something that is very different from the reality of the situation
tone
the attitude that a character or peice of literature gives off to a certain subject / in the literature
