A

LA agent - anaesthetic agent

Vasoconstrictor- raises blood pressure eg adrenaline

Salt solution -hydrochloric acid stops nerve impulse

Reducing agent -prevents the vasoconstrictor combining with oxygen.

Fungicide-non toxic and gives good shelf life.

Buffers-to control acidity

Xylonor Gel what is this

A

Contains Lidocaine 5% and Cetrimide 0.15%

Can be used in adults , children and adolescents from 4+
Used as a topical anaesthetic gel in dentistry

Recommended dosage of 0.1 to 0.5g with a cotton wool roll (0.1 is about 2mm of gel)

Massaged onto previously dried mucosa. Removal of excess saliva minimises dilution of the gel.

A

pull the cover up and you will hear 2 clicks that locks the LA
pull the white handle off which goes into the orange clinical waste bag unless the cartridge comes out it goes into the blue box.
then the rest can go into the blue sharps bin.
