conforms to some aspects of a ballad form but deviates from this also by concluding his stanza’s with Iambic dimeter creating a ‘metric void’ when we expect to see the pattern repeated but we are left with a gap or vacancy in the line - quick reversal of fortune and the knights emptiness of his ending like the ending of a quatrain
