What is a nominal relative clause?
The subordinate relative clause has the function of a noun phrase. Vip: they have no antecedent
EX: I know *when the train will come. *
What types of adjectival relative clauses are there?
- Defining
- non-defining
- implicit
- reduced
Difference between defining and non defining clauses
Non defining relative clauses go in between commas and cannot use THAT.
EX: The girl who/that works at the library is twenty. / The girl, who works at the library, is twenty.

What are implicit relative clauses?
They are senteces in which the pronouns can be ommited. When they are not the subject of the relative clause.
EX: The guy who I was working with (Here, I is the subject, so the whocan be ommited) The guy *I was working with *
But we can’t do the same with: the man who wants to see you.

What are reduced relative clauses?
They have a copular verb and a participal modifier (ed/ing)
