beings to participate in divine reason even before the “Word became flesh.”
St. Justin Martyr
This means “the seed of the word” - the reason in man.
Logos Spermatikos
He said that man cannot live without life and man may
live his life by sharing and participating in God’s works.
St. Irenaeus of Lyons
He is the father of scholasticism
Anselm of Canterbury
Anselm said that it is essential to have faith to understanding the truth.
Fides Quaerems Intellectum
Anselm said that this is God even if he attempted to look through it
Inaccessible Light
Aquinas wrote this as am summary of the most important doctrine of the Church
Summa Theologiae
This says that God is the primary and unmoved mover

Aquinas said that everything needs a cause, and God is the ultimate cause.

Aquinas said that He makes it possible and necessary to exist on its own and command others
to exist as well.

Aquinas said that God is the idea of what is perfect
