What was the impact of the TOV on germans?
-he hated the new government for signing and believed they had betrayed the german population (november criminals)
-hitler believed it was the jews in goverment who had encouraged the surrender > wanted to remove them completely
What was the aim of the Treaty of Versailles? (TOV)
ensure that germany could never start another war again and ‘victors justice’
What were some points from the Nazi’s 25 pointe programme?
equality for german ppl by abolishment of tov, no jew can be a citizen, unlimited authority for central government
What was Lebensraum?
Living space
What did Hitler consider Jews as?
Subhumans
What were Hitler’s beliefs regarding Lebensraum?
He believed that the German Aryan race was superior and they should expand lands to occupy their population
What was Volksgemeinschaft?
The Nazi’s idea of a more pure society
What was society divided into?
‘National Comrades’ and ‘Community Aliens’
What was the ‘National Comrades’ group?
Racially Aryan Germans and they benefited from all things in society
What were the community aliens group?
Jews, criminals, disabled, lgbtq+ and they were excluded from volks…and couldn’t access welfare payments, social and cultural life etc
Beliefs of the Aryan race
Hitler believed that this was the master race and all other groups posed a threat. And to stay strong, they had to remain racially pure and jews posed a major threat to aryan success.
What were Hitler’s views towards Jews?
Determined by race, That they were parasites of society, dangerous to others, believed they were inferior
