Each title is given a title number, details of the current owners are registered against it

Legal mortgages, used to raise money for the estate owner by offering the land as security for the loan. Are substantively registered against the estate they affect

A
Rights that are automatically binding on any transferee or occupier of the land without the need for any kind of registration - have priority over all owners
