What is the pathophysiology of AA amyloidosis?

Inflammation triggers the liver to release SAA.
SAA is broken down to AA which can then accumulate.
Protein forms difficult to degrade β sheets and align to form fibrils.

It is the color that amyloid makes when stained with Congo Red and looked at with a polarized light filter.
