A

Stage A - confined to bowel wall not spread to serosa
Stage B - spread through thickness of bowel wall into serosa
Stage C - Spread to lymph nodes
Stage D - spread to other tissues e.g. liver

A

The use of labelled antibodies to identify specific antigens such as specific to cancers. flourescent labeing may be used.

What is FISH?

A

In situhybridisation is much less frequently used and recognises specific RNA or DNA sequences.
Can be used to identify Kappa and Lamda chains or RNAs encoded by the epstain barr virus.
