How does communism work?
The government owns production and collects wealth / in charge of everything (prices/wages/agriculture)
What are some benefits of communism?
- no classes - everyone is equal (no rich and poor)
- stuff distributed by need, not wealth
- goal of communism = make life FAIR and EQUAL for everyone
What are some negative impacts of communism?
- government corruption
- collapse and failure of individual rights
- lower standards of living (laziness)
- less freedom
What are things that can be both good and bad in communism?
- only one political party
- community comes before individuals
What is the biggest communist superpower?
USSR (modern day Russia)

What is capitalism?
A system based on private ownership of property and business / government control is limited.

When did the Cold War begin?
in the 1940s, soon after World War II

Why did the Cold War start?
The Cold War began because the USA (capitalists) were afraid the Soviet Union (USSR) government (communist) was going to dominate all countries, and they did not agree with this
What is the Domino Theory?
the idea that if a nation falls under communist control, nearby nations will also fall under communist control
