Action: draws lip inferiorly

Action: protrudes lower lip/ wrinkles chin

Orbicularis oculi
Origin: frontal/maxillary bones and ligaments around orbit
Insertion: tissue of eyelid
Action: closes eye/blinking
Orbicularis oris
Origin: arises indirectly from maxilla/mandible

Action: closes lips/kissing and whistle muscle
Platysma
Origin: fascia of chest over pectoral and deltoid muscles

Action: tenses skin of neck

Insertion: linea Alba/ pubic and iliac crest
Action: compressed abdominal wall
Internal oblique
Origin: lumbar fascia
Insertion: linea Alba/ pubic crest
Action: compressed abdominal wall
Transversus abdominis
Origin: inginual ligament
Insertion: linea Alba/pubic crest
Action: Compresses abdominal contents
Diaphragm
Origin: inferior border of rib/sternum
Insertion: central tendon
Action: prime mover of inspiration flattens and contraction.
