When modifying a noun with 이다, use -인 or related forms.
(i) To Describe a Noun (~인)
• 학생인 사람을 찾고 있어요. (I’m looking for a person who is a student.)
• 서울인 곳에 살고 싶어요. (I want to live in a place that is Seoul.)
How to say “seems to be”
To Express “Seems to Be” (~인 것 같다)
• 그는 좋은 사람인 것 같아요. (He seems to be a good person.)
• 이건 거짓말인 것 같아. (This seems to be a lie.)
How to say “when (subject) was, it, it is”
iii) When Something is a Certain Way (~일 때, When It Is)
• 내가 학생일 때 한국에 갔어요. (I went to Korea when I was a student.)
• 겨울일 때 눈이 와요. (It snows when it is winter.)
