What is context?

What is given circumstances?
The environmental, historical, and situational environment a character finds themselves in.

Breaking up the script into units and actions.
What is subtext?
The words going on beneath the words.
What is motivation?
The reason or reasons for a character’s behaviour; an incentive or inducement for further action for a
character.
What are units & objectives?
A unit is a portion of a scene that contains one objective for an actor.
What is characterisation?
The act of changing voice, body language, movement, gesture when in role.
What is character interaction?
The action or relationship among two or more characters.
What is staging?
Where objects are positioned and how well their movement relates to your
performance blocking will impact the staging of a scene.
