Concentrically accelerates knee flexion and tibial external rotation
Integrated fcn of biceps femoris (short head)
Eccentrically decelerates knee extension, tibial internal rotation and isometrically stabilizes the knee
Origin semimbranosus

Insertion Semimembranosus
Posterior aspect of the medial tibial condyle of the tibia
Isolated function of semimebranosus
Concentrically accelerates knee flexion, hip extension, and tibial internal rotation
Integrated function of semimebranosus
Eccentrically decelerates knee extension, hip flexion, to be a external rotation, and isometrically stabilizes the knee and LPHC
Origin of the semitendinosis
Ischial tuberosity of the pelvis and part of the sacrotuberous ligament
Insertion of semitendinosis
Proximal aspect of the medial tibial condyle of the tibia
Isolated function of semitendinosis
Concentrically accelerates knee flexion, hip extension, and tibial internal rotation
