Proximal - abducted and flexed
Distal- adducted and extended
What are the common mechanisms for patella dislocations?
Twisting injury or direct blow to knee
Sudden change in direction
- Knee flexed, internal rotation of femur
What does clinical presentation of haemarthrosis mean for diagnosis in terms of meniscal injuries?
Indicative of peripheral meniscus tear or associated ACL injury.
What are 2 roles of ACL?
Resists anterior dislocation and medial rotation of tibia in relation to femur.
What is charots arthropathy?
Progressive destruction - bones, tissues and joints
Neuropathy, metabolic abnormalities and microtrauma
Results in osteolysis, deformity and dislocation.
