The klan had very little influence in the big cities. However, the Klan had control of influential politicians.

By 1925 the KKK had five million members. They were anti communist, anti-negro, anti-Jew and anti-catholic and against all foreigners.

Each branch of the KKK became a Klavern and several Klaverns were known as Konklave. Klaverns were ruled by a kleagle. Konklaves were run by a grand dragon.

D.C Stephenson was an American Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan in the US state, Indiana and 22 other states. He is considered to have been one of the most successful Klan leaders up until the downfall of his conviction for murder which led to the end of the second wave of the Klan activity.
