Kinematics Flashcards
Speed vs velocity and the formula for average speed
Speed is the distance travelled per unit time
Velocity is the displacement travelled per unit time
Average velocity is total displacement over total time
Acceleration
Rate of change of velocity
What information can you get from a distant time graph
YOU ONLY CAN GET SPEED WITH THE GRADIENT
So find the gradient at any point in this graph to get the speed at that point in time
What information can you get from SPEED TIME GRAPH
To find ACCELERATION use GRADIENT FOR THIS GRAPH
To find DISTANCE use the AREA UNDER GRAPH
Shapes of displacement time graph
Shapes of velocity time graph
Acceleration due to free fall
Near the surface of the earth the acceleration OF FREE FALL FOR AN OBJECT IS CONSTANT AND IS APPROXIMATELY 10!!!!
TROY 10 pls remember 10
Effects of air resistance.
In real life always have air resistance the only time where no air resistance is in vacuum( not air, liquid or solid like in outer space) or in your questions
AIR RESISTANCE IS A FORCE SO LIKE A HAND PUSHING it will increase till its equal to the weight of the object so the guy will fall at constant speed
This constant speed is TERMINAL VELOCITY
