Samuel went to - David’s family to inspect them to see who would be the next king.
David was tending to sheep at this point, being the youngest.
God chose David because he saw into David’s heart and saw good and the ability to lead, even without much experience (especially since David can take care of a flock of sheep.
how did david and saul meet/connect? (2)
Saul hired david as a harpist to brighten up sauls moon/ mental state (saul was said to have been possessed by an evil spirit when samuel removed his kingship)

David defeated goliath
Goliath was a philistine who was compared to a giant
Goliath came with the whole philistine army behind him and requested to fight one of the israelites. If the isralite won the philistines would become their slaves and if the philistine one, the israelites will become their slaves
David volunteers and saul gets him dressed up in armour but davids like no i just need a slingshot thanks
David airms his slingshot so the rock went straight into goliath’s forehead and with the assistance of god, goliath was struck down dead
David then decapitates goliath and hold up his head to the palestinians as they run away from the jews
The jews are ecstatic, apart from saul whos kinda jealous because the other jews want to appoint David as king
tell me about david, bathsheba and uriah (5)
One day, david is relaxing and walking on his palace roof and spots bathsheba and asks his messengers to find out about her
The messengers tell david her name and relationships including being a wife to a soldier called uriah
Regardless of this david sent for her, slept with her and impregnated her
David then proceeds to tell the army commander to put uriah in the frontlines of the battle and to retreat as to put him in a position to get killed
Uriah was killed in battle and batsheva mourns but then gets brought to become David’s wife.
