When the British threatened to take away territory from the Turkish Khalifa after WW1, Muslims were outraged and formed the Khilafat Movement to protect the Sultan and their religion.
How did the Khilafat-Non Cooperation Movement form?
Non-Cooperation Movement had common ground with Khilafat Movement. Khilafat Movement promised non-violence in return for Gandhi’s support for the Khilafat Movement. This became Khilafat-Non Cooperation Movement.
