Q

Four advantages of friction?

A

Advantages of friction:
Friction enables us to walk freely.
It helps to support ladder against wall.
It becomes possible to transfer one form of energy to another.
Objects can be piled up without slipping.
Breaks of vehicles work due to friction.

Q

What is mass measured in?

A

Mass is measured in kilograms, acceleration due to gravity is measured in m/s2, and as weight is a force, it is measured in Newtons.

Q

What is Hooke’s law?

A

Hooke’s law states that the extension of an elastic body (a spring) is directly proportional to the force applied to it.
This means that for example if you add 5g to a spring it will stretch a certain amount and if you add another 50g it will stretch by the same amount.
