Things which are useful to people. They may be natural like coal, or human like money and skills
Energy
The power to do something and to give off heat. Energy resources that can only be used once are non-renewable e.g. coal and resources that can be used over again are called renewable e.g. wind power
Conservation
The process of protecting an environment
Drainage
How water is moved on the surface of the land e.g. rivers and underground to lakes and seas
Settlement
A place where people live
Habitat
The home of plants and animals
Climate
The average weather conditions of a place
Urban
An area of land which is mainly covered in buildings
Vegetation
The type of living plants and trees in an area
Weather
The day to day condition of the atmosphere. It includes temperature, rainfall and wind
Population
The people who live in an area
Recycling
Involves processing used materials into new products, in order to prevent the waste of potentially useful materials
Communications
The ways in which people, goods and ideas move from one place to another
Economic geography
It is about industry, jobs, earning a living and wealth
Relief
The shape of the land surface and its height above sea level
