Very important principles about revelation and faith to receive miracles are in notes attached to these verses.
Go forward! No matter how impossible the situation appears to be – and it looked impossible to the Israelites – even when it seems that to go forward would mean certain destruction or failure – and it was literally a life and death situation for the Israelites – go forward! We may need to step into the Red Sea. Our feet may get wet before the Sea begins to part. Go forward anyway!
Serve a mission. Go forward! Get married. Go forward! Have a family. Go forward! Follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Go forward! Accept and magnify your calling. Etc. Go forward!

Elder Renlund's wife: the short answer to any question from a non-member about the gospel is that a young man in 1820 prayed, received revelations, etc, and now I'll tell you the rest.
