Occur mainly because of the weather in the sky and climate change that can influence people’s day-to-day lives badly. E.g a tornado/hurricane
Geological hazards
Occur mainly because of how the tectonic plates under the Earths crust shift to create deadly disasters. E.g earthquakes/tsunamis on the sea level. Can change the land shape with dramatic consequences
Primary effects
Caused by ground shaking and can include deaths, injuries and damage to roads/buildings. E.g trapped in a falling building
Secondary effects
The unforeseen consequences of the disaster maybe including tsunamis, fires and landslides. E.g homelessness-no food-starvation
Coriolis effect
The spinning effect caused by the rotation of the Earth
Site
The features/characteristics of the land where the festival is located
Situation
The location of the settlement in relation to its surroundings; communication links, rivers, other towns etc
Biodiversity
A measure of the variety of plants/animals in a particular ecosystem
